Operation Manager

Schedule: Overnight 6:00 pm – 6:30 am, 3 days on / 4 days off (3/12) and 4 days on / 3 days off (4/12).
Position Summary
Under the direction of the General Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for day-to-day site operations, including supervising the warehousing, receiving, and shipping of product in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ensures the development of systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably.
Manages operations to meet productivity and service goals and client SLA terms.
Drives continuous improvement initiatives and cost‑saving measures.
Meets client KPI's and quality system requirements.
Motivates, supervises, and disciplines team members; conducts performance evaluations.
Collaborates with Human Resources for hiring, training, and developing staff.
Provides results by leveraging the right people at the right time.
Keeps senior management and client representatives informed of critical operational issues.
Plans daily work schedule based on work orders and customer instructions.
Reorganizes warehouse space and allocates supplies and staffing as needed.
Ensures effective training and SOP compliance.
Maintains high motivation and customer satisfaction focus.
Supports SOP adherence and conducts staff meetings.
Management Information Systems
Trains team members on required information systems (e.g., WMS).
Purchases necessary computer software and hardware per corporate IT policies.
Stays current on hardware/software changes and client system proficiency.
Customer Management
Maintains high customer service standards across all functions.
Provides operational and administrative support to client accounts.
Maintains contact with functions and responds to requests.
Leads or attends meetings with key customers.
Coordinates supplier/customer visits to the site.
Promotes positive client relationships.
Budgeting & Financials
Supports creation of annual operating budget.
Manages controls to meet service level and operational performance goals within cost, revenue, and profit parameters.
Ensures budgeting and pricing comply with contract guidelines.
Equipment & Facilities
Manages sanitation, maintenance, security, housekeeping, safety, and equipment programs.
Ensures team members are trained on material handling equipment.
Recommends new technologies as applicable.
Safety
Achieves company safety goals (IFR, other metrics).
Audits warehouse for compliance with safety/security/quality principles.
Ensures adherence to all statutory Health and Safety requirements.
Other Duties
Works overtime as required.
Performs additional duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manages warehouse operations supervisors and support staff.
Skills & Abilities
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
7 years in logistics/distribution or related environment.
5 years in supervisory role.
Ability to work in unregulated temperatures (mild to moderate).
Computer Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Proficient in applicable WMS systems.
Language Skills
English reading, writing, verbal; business level communication.

Compensation
Base pay: $86,000.00 – $106,000.00 per year.
