About this Job
The mission of Louisiana Economic Development is to cultivate jobs and economic opportunity for the people of Louisiana.
Serves as a frontline business support and program coordination leader for the Louisiana Growth Network, reporting directly to the Business Development Manager. This position is responsible for supporting day-to-day business development activities, assisting Louisiana businesses with access to technical assistance and resources, coordinating outreach efforts, and supporting statewide program delivery. The Business Development Supervisor works collaboratively with internal staff, resource providers, and partner organizations to help advance small business growth, entrepreneurial development, and economic development priorities across Louisiana.

Minimum Qualifications
Six years of experience in economic research or development, financial services, international relations, marketing, or real estate; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in economic research or development, financial services, international relations, marketing, or real estate; OR
A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in economic research or development, financial services, international relations, marketing, or real estate; OR
An advanced degree in a business administration field, economics, or international trade plus two years of experience in economic research or development, financial services, international relations, marketing, or real estate.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Certification as an Economic Development Finance Professional (EDFP) or completion of the Economic Development Institute certificate program will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Possession of a Professional Community and Economic Developer Certification (PCED) or Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) certification will substitute for two years of the required experience.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
Provide business assistance and support to small businesses, entrepreneurs, and second-stage companies by assessing needs and connecting clients with appropriate resources and technical assistance.
Assist businesses with growth initiatives, including business planning, market expansion, operational improvements, and access to capital.
Coordinate and support business development programs, workshops, training sessions, outreach activities, and partner engagements.
Build and maintain relationships with economic development organizations, business resource partners, educational institutions, lenders, and community stakeholders.
Promote Louisiana Growth Network services through outreach efforts, presentations, meetings, and events.
Facilitate referrals and resource navigation to ensure businesses receive timely access to programs, services, and support organizations.
Maintain client records and assist with data collection, reporting, program tracking, and performance monitoring.
Provide administrative and operational support for business development activities, project coordination, and organizational initiatives.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure effective program delivery and customer service.
Support special projects and other duties that advance the Louisiana Growth Network's mission and statewide economic development efforts.
