Events And Support Technician

The Events and Support Technician is responsible for supporting campus events through the setup, breakdown, and transportation of event-related equipment and furnishings while also maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment. This position performs a combination of event operations and facility support for College facilities. This position may require work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed to support College events, programs, and operational requirements.
Receives direct supervision and/or technical direction from the Custodial Manager. Exercises no supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Ability to read and complete work orders.
Maintain a positive working relationship with faculty, supervisors, staff, co-workers, and students.
Adhere to the College's uniform policy by wearing the designated uniform during all scheduled work hours in accordance with departmental standards.
Ability to lift, push, pull, or relocate a minimum of 50 lbs., as required in the performance of assigned duties.
Demonstrate basic proficiency in the use of mobile devices and computers, including the ability to send and receive emails and text messages. Must also be able to utilize standard applications such as Google Sheets, in support of departmental operations.
Event and Facility Support

Set up and tear down tables and chairs for campus events, meetings, programs, and special functions.
Set up and tear down mobile stages and related event equipment.
Hang signage and transport sign stands to promote events and provide directional information.
Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and other items between locations across campus as needed.
Perform minor assembly of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
Assist with event logistics and facility preparations to ensure spaces are properly configured and ready for use.
Support departmental operations by responding to event-related requests and adjusting room configurations as required.
Perform special projects and duties as assigned.
Other Important Functions:
May shovel snow.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
General support duties to support facility needs.
Qualifications

Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
Basic knowledge of technology required; receiving, sending and replying to an email, receiving and opening simple documents electronically for reading, and performing Internet searches.
Able to use tools and equipment, and have general mechanical knowledge.
Ability To:
Ability to communicate clearly and respectfully within a group.
Ability to read and write.
Ability to understand and follow basic oral and written directions.
Communicate concisely and respectfully, both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Interpret and apply CFCC goals, objectives, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
Maintain effective audio-visual discrimination and perception needed for:

Reading and writing
Communicating with others
Operating assigned equipment
Handling varied tasks simultaneously
Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties and responsibilities, which may include the following:

Bending, stooping, climbing, or lifting up to 50 pounds, including the relocation of furniture and equipment as needed
Maintain mental capacity, which allows the capability of:

Minimum Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.

Candidates are required to submit OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS for all degrees obtained prior to their first day of work or hire date. If highest level of education is High School diploma or equivalent, proof of completion is required.
Candidates who have obtained their education outside of the US and its territories must have their academic degree(s) validated, at their own expense, by an outside credential evaluation service as equivalent to the Baccalaureate or Master's degree conferred by a regionally accredited college or university in the United States.
