We are partnering with our Portland, OR agency client to recruit a Group Account Director to join their team on a permanent basis! This is an opportunity to be a senior-level leader in this organization and to drive cohesion, consistency, growth and opportunity within a set of enterprise-level clients. You will be responsible for overseeing an integrated team of accounts leadership and operations staff, driving strategic hiring, performance management and training. Most critically, you will be the main point-of-contact and strategic growth engine for senior-level client stakeholders, translating overarching business goals into integrated digital marketing and creative output that aligns with their expectations. Your major mission is maintaining and driving improvements to account health and growth, and ensuring client satisfaction at all times. To be a fit, you should bring 5+ years in an accounts leadership position, AD or GAD experience required. You should also be extremely comfortable as a player/coach and ready to drive growth through a consultative, subject-matter expertise approach. In-depth experience with P&L management, pitching and new business development, executive collaboration and people management is a must.

Clients under your purview will include major technology and retail organizations, so you need to bring a level of enterprise experiences with organizations on both sides. This is a hybrid opportunity, but this organization is open to exploring candidates looking to relocate to the area who are aligned with the profile here. Compensation for this role includes base salary ranging from $170,000 to $220,000 annually, bonus incentives based on growth, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(K) with match and 3 weeks of PTO. You will:
- Serve as a strategic partner to senior-level client stakeholders within enterprise organizations, driving account growth, securing new business and nurturing relationships and introductions across these organizations
- Lead cross-functional account and operational teams, mentoring integrated account staff for career development, strategic alignment and cohesion for the client experience
- Drive account growth through nurture and proactive business development approaches, uncovering new opportunities and relationships within existing accounts and providing education on agency expertise and offerings to expand reach
- Negotiate SOWs, fees and retainers
- Own P&L responsibility, ensuring profitability and growth through accounts leadership and working closely with agency leadership to track opportunity and account health
Your experience should include:
- 5+ years of director or senior-leadership level accounts experience in an agency setting, managing P&L, nuanced account services teams and growth goals
- In-depth experience leading enterprise accounts across integrated marketing and creative offerings; Experience working with technology, retail and consumer products brands
- Expertise in new business growth, securing new business, negotiating SOWs, fees, etc. and holding ultimate responsibility for account revenue targets
- Agency accounts subject-matter expertise with the ability to secure trust and buy-in from senior executives and stakeholders within enterprise organizations
- Level of confidence and competence to communicate and the seniormost level of client organizations and internal agency teams
