Senior Relationship Manager – Sports Finance & Advisory Group – Charlotte. The role focuses on new business development and managing a portfolio of sports sector clients, serving as the primary bank advocate and key financial advisor for relationships with sports leagues, organizations, teams, and related entities.
Responsibilities

Demonstrate ability to manage an extensive portfolio of sports‑related clients.
Acquire, deepen, and maintain profitable client relationships through the delivery of financial solutions, prospecting, and enhancing existing relationships.
Understand and interpret financial and cash flow statements to assess and analyze financial conditions of companies, industry trends, and valuation methodologies.
Collaborate with domestic and international teammates, including Investment Banking, Capital Markets, Foreign Exchange, and Wealth Management, and facilitate client relationships with Product Specialists such as Credit, Treasury Management, and Merchant Services to design and deliver financial solutions.
Lead and facilitate the development of solutions and dialogue with clients on complex and nuanced matters, including industry‑specific, general business issues, and a broad range of financial strategies.
Develop deep knowledge of industry issues in the sports sector.
Coach and mentor peers while utilizing leadership skills.
Adapt to changes in banking and sales practices and broader market and industry conditions as needed.

Required Qualifications

10+ years of broad‑based commercial lending/corporate finance experience in the sports industry preferred.
Demonstrated management of an extensive portfolio of clients within the sports industry and ability to successfully manage that portfolio.
Credit trained and proficient with a proven track record of prospecting new business and enhancing existing relationships.
Professional sales skills with experience in planning, execution, and follow‑up of client meetings.
Strong corporate finance, capital markets, and accounting acumen.
Financial modeling experience and completion of formal credit training required.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership ability.
Capacity to organize, facilitate, lead, and negotiate with a team of bank associates to deliver client solutions.
Must obtain Securities Industry Essentials (SIE), Series7, and Series63 licenses within 180 days of start date.
Heavy travel expected: up to 50% of the time and some weekend travel related to industry events.
Travel flexibility high due to episodic, deal‑driven activity.
Desired Skills

Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent experience; MBA desirable.
Active membership or participation in sports sector organizations and activities.
Established active networking contacts and Centers of Influence within the sector.
Strong desire to work in the sports banking industry.
