Job Summary
The Operations Manager will oversee daily operations of DSV's transportation and logistics division, ensuring activities are safe, efficient, and cost-effective. Responsibilities include managing staff, developing operational policies, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all aspects of the transportation and logistics division, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods and services.
Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.
Manage staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluation, to ensure effective and efficient operations.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics such as productivity, cost, and quality, and develop plans to improve performance.
Maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, and vendors to keep all parties informed and satisfied with services.
Collaborate with other departments including sales and customer service to align business operations and enhance teamwork.
Educational Background / Work Experience
Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
5+ years of experience in transportation and logistics management, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to identify and address operational issues and challenges.
In‑depth knowledge of transportation and logistics processes, regulations, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in transportation management software such as TMS or WMS.
Knowledge of lean principles and methodologies is a plus.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Responsible for managing a team of operations staff.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
Experience in international transportation and logistics management.
Fluency in English (oral and written).
Computer Literacy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with transportation management software.
For this position, the expected base pay range is $84,000.00 - $105,000.00 annually. Compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
