Public Affairs Specialist
Support the U.S. Navy by delivering strategic communications to key stakeholders. Design, develop, produce, and advise on internal and external communication materials and media that enhance the organization’s reputation.
Responsibilities
Develop and write press releases, fact files, talking points, briefing cards, and responses to queries (RTQ).
Prepare media assessments, public affairs plans, internal messaging, newsletters, and social media content.
Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to coordinate concurrent campaigns and initiatives.
Utilize tools such as Cision, graphic design software, and other communication platforms.
Provide clear, concise, business‑oriented messaging to inform and engage audiences.
Qualifications
5+ years of public affairs experience, including experience in the Department of War.
Strong knowledge of public affairs policies, guidance, and AP Style Guide.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to collaborate on multiple campaigns simultaneously.
Secret clearance.
Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred).
Nice to Have
Proficiency with Photoshop, InDesign, and other graphic design tools.
Knowledge of military acquisitions.
Master’s degree.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary range:
$55,200.00 to $126,000.00
annualized USD. Full benefits package includes health, life, disability, financial, and retirement benefits; paid leave; professional development; tuition assistance; work‑life programs; and dependent care. Eligible employees receive benefits after working at least 20 hours per week on a regular basis.
