Public Affairs Specialist, Mid

As a communications professional, you will inform and engage key audiences and promote the organization’s desired reputation. We’re looking for an experienced communications specialist ready to grow, win for the client, and live our mission each day.

In this role, you will design, develop, produce, and advise on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media supporting the U.S. Navy. You’ll author press releases, fact files, talking points, briefing cards, responses to queries (RTQ), media assessments, public affairs plans, internal messaging, newsletters, and social media content. You’ll collaborate on oral and written communication, inform key audiences through words, images, and sound using tools like Cision and graphic design tools. Your self‑guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to meet their strategic communications goals.

Requirements

5+ years of experience with public affairs, including in the Department of War

Knowledge of public affairs policies, guidance, and AP Style Guide

Ability to collaborate on numerous campaigns at once, coordinating with multiple stakeholders

Secret clearance (required)

Bachelor’s degree

Nice to Have

Experience with Photoshop, InDesign, and other graphic design tools

Knowledge of military acquisitions

Master’s degree

Clearance
Applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary is determined by location, experience, and contractual factors. The projected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). This posting will close within 90 days from the posting date.

Work Model
Remote: If listed remote, may require occasional in‑person work at a Booz Allen or customer facility.

Hybrid: If listed hybrid, expected to work from a Booz Allen facility frequently, may also visit a customer facility.

Onsite: Work primarily performed at a Booz Allen office or customer facility.
