Overview
The Director of Business Development provides leadership to support the agency in meeting growth expectations tied to revenue, census, and start‑of‑care budget goals. The role oversees the execution of the agency’s sales and marketing strategy, builds and strengthens relationships with referral sources, and drives sustainable agency growth.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the business development team, fostering opportunities for partnership and community engagement.
- Recruit, lead, develop, and supervise the agency‑level Business Development sales team, establishing performance goals and incentive structures in collaboration with Executive Directors.
- Monitor the growth, performance, and overall health of the sales team across assigned territories.
- Develop strategic sales initiatives to achieve agency growth goals based on revenue, admissions, and length of stay drivers.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate educational events, health fairs, and community programs to promote home health and hospice service lines.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with referral sources, patients, families, healthcare professionals, and the broader community.
- Deliver regular sales performance metrics and insights to Executive Directors to support strategic decision‑making.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of community resources to provide in‑services and education to the sales team.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- At least three (3) years of experience in healthcare sales (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license, current automobile insurance, and a safe driving record.
Preferred Requirements
- Master’s degree in marketing, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).
- At least three (3) years of experience in healthcare sales (preferred).
- Knowledge of home health or hospice industry (preferred).
- Familiarity with HCHB/EPIC computer and electronic medical records systems (EMR) (preferred).
