Job Description

Junior Accountant

We are seeking an Accountant to assist in the preparation of P&L reports, accounting entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

Responsibilities

Actively participate in the month end closing process

Prepare month-end income and expense journal entries

Prepare month-end balance sheet journal entries

Responsible for month-end balance sheet account reconciliation, identification, escalation and resolution of issues associated with substantiation

Create and update written controls and procedures

Perform other duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting

Strong general accounting knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP

Knowledge of Great Plains software is a plus

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) with strong Excel skills

Highly organized and able to multi-task and manage multiple projects and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or efficiency

Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across various departments and levels of the organization

Experience in Financial Services, particularly broker/dealer is a plus
