About the Opportunity
Sigma Systems is seeking a talented
Part-Time Graphic Designer
to support the Massachusetts WIC Program on a 6-month contract assignment. This role offers a unique opportunity to create impactful educational, outreach, and social marketing materials that support public health initiatives across diverse communities.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with
Adobe InDesign ,
Adobe Illustrator , print production, multilingual design projects, and vendor coordination. This position is primarily remote, transitioning to a hybrid schedule during the final two months of the assignment.
Work Schedule & Location
Months 1-4:
100% Remote
Months 5-6:
Hybrid (1 day per week onsite in Boston, MA)
Part-Time:
22.5 hours per week

Key Responsibilities
Graphic Design & Creative Development
Design and produce brochures, booklets, flyers, educational materials, banner ads, billboards, presentations, and digital assets.
Create visually engaging layouts using Adobe Creative Cloud, primarily Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator.
Develop graphics and materials that support nutrition education, outreach campaigns, and public health initiatives.
Inclusive Marketing & Multilingual Design
Create culturally relevant and inclusive marketing materials for diverse audiences.
Prepare layouts and production files for translation into multiple languages.
Ensure accessibility, readability, and consistency across multilingual publications.
Print Production & Vendor Coordination
Manage print production processes from concept through final delivery.
Solicit vendor bids through state procurement systems.
Coordinate timelines with printers, translators, and external vendors.
Review proofs and ensure quality standards are met.
Evaluate vendor performance and maintain project documentation.
Brand & Project Management
Maintain organized design files, templates, and digital assets.
Collaborate with WIC program staff and project managers to align materials with program goals and branding standards.
Support conferences, meetings, training sessions, and special projects with presentation materials and visual assets.
Required Qualifications
1-2 years of professional Graphic Design experience.
Advanced proficiency in:
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Illustrator
Experience creating print and digital marketing materials.
Experience managing print production workflows.
Experience coordinating with external vendors, printers, and translators.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Portfolio demonstrating creative design work for diverse audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing educational, healthcare, nonprofit, government, or public-sector materials.
Experience with multilingual publication design and localization projects.
Familiarity with procurement or vendor bidding processes.
Experience supporting public awareness or social marketing campaigns.
