Position Overview

Youth String Orchestra Conductor – The Music Shop, Boonton, NJ
Ensemble Schools is seeking an experienced, professional conductor to direct two part‑time string orchestras—Junior Strings and Intermediate Strings—at The Music Shop.
Responsibilities

Direct the Junior Strings and Intermediate Strings programs during the January through May term.
Deliver two 90‑minute sessions per week, totaling 20 sessions.
Select appropriate repertoire for each ensemble.
Establish and maintain a nurturing musical community, promoting camaraderie and healthy collaboration among students.
Motivate and inspire students and staff.
Qualifications

Proficiency in a string instrument (violin, viola, cello, double bass).
Degree in music performance, pedagogy, or equivalent performing experience.
Demonstrated love of teaching and experience working with young musicians.
Reliability, punctuality, and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a routine background check.
Greater availability preferred for consistent scheduling.
Benefits

Pay: $65 per hour.
