Job Overview
Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced, and professional Youth String Orchestra Conductor to direct part‑time at The Music Shop in Boonton, New Jersey. The position requires in‑person teaching.

Responsibilities
The conductor will take ownership and direct two programs: junior strings and intermediate strings. Responsibilities include:

Teaching two 90‑minute sessions per week over a 34‑week academic year (September through May).

Selecting appropriate repertoire for students.

Educating, uniting, and nurturing a musical community and promoting healthy camaraderie among students.

Motivating and inspiring students and the broader musical community.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:

Availability for the September through May program.

Proficiency in a string instrument such as violin, viola, cello, or double bass.

A degree in music performance, pedagogy, or equivalent performing experience, and a demonstrated love of teaching.

Experience working with young musicians.

A robust appreciation for punctuality and reliable transportation.

The ability to pass a routine background check.

Compensation and Benefits
Instructor pay is $40–$45 per hour, commensurate with experience.
