What the job involves
23andMe is looking for an Associate Product Manager (or Product Manager, depending on experience) to join our Product team
We’ve spent over a decade perfecting how we deliver genetic data. Our next major challenge isn't the data itself; it’s what people do with it. We want to ensure our members deeply understand their results, use them to make healthier life choices, and feel empowered to contribute to research that helps future patients
In this role, you’ll work end-to-end across the member journey, turning complex genomics into intuitive consumer experiences. Powered by the world’s largest consented genetic research platform, the features you ship here will directly shape real-world health outcomes and drive life-changing discoveries for millions of people
Navigate the Member Journey: Drive engagement at every stage—from kit ordering and the waiting period to results delivery and long-term retention—partnering across vertical teams
Translate Complex Science: Lead the user-facing design and copy that transforms clinical and statistical complexity into clear, actionable insights
Stay Close to Users: Partner with our Consumer Insights team to conduct qualitative research (interviews, observation, follow-ups) so your product decisions are deeply grounded in real user experiences
Run Lean Experiments: Rapidly ship and test micro-flows, gamification, and in-product nudges to let user data dictate our product roadmap
Accelerate with AI: Leverage AI prototyping and LLM coding tools to build working mockups quickly without getting stuck in engineering backlogs
Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Build seamless relationships with engineering, design, research, clinical, and marketing teams—acting as the translator who keeps everyone aligned
Champion the Product Publicly: Partner with our social media team to create engaging video content that breaks down complex genomic features and helps educate our community on camera
