Job Title – Segment Public Relations Senior Specialist
As a Segment Public Relations Senior Specialist, you will play a critical role in shaping Baker Hughes’ external communications at the segment level. You will develop high‑quality content, manage media relations, support crisis communications, and collaborate across functions to ensure consistent, aligned, and impactful messaging. You will work closely with segment leadership, brand, marketing, and external partners to deliver integrated PR programs that reinforce Baker Hughes’ leadership in energy technology and industrial innovation.

Responsibilities

Draft and edit press releases, external messaging, media briefs, and other communication materials in accordance with AP Style.

Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines, enterprise narrative, and strategic objectives.

Own KPI measurement and analyze data (reach, share‑of‑voice, campaign metrics) to drive insights and inform decisions.

Provide administrative support to the PR & Media Relations function, including budget tracking, subscription management, and coverage reporting.

Develop and implement strategic communication plans, pitching stories to global and trade media.

Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries and coordinate accurate, consistent responses.

Support the organization in managing reputation during sensitive issues or crises, maintaining a calm, professional approach.

Collaborate with leadership to align media efforts with corporate goals, manage media lists, and monitor coverage.

Prepare media briefings for interviews and leadership engagements.

Build and nurture relationships with journalists, reporters, and media influencers.

Qualifications

Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

Have 6–8 years of experience in media relations, PR, or corporate communications.

Demonstrate strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with mastery of AP Style.

Show proven experience in proactive pitching and crisis management.

Be able to manage multiple projects under pressure while meeting deadlines.

Show strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to inform decisions.

Provide strategic PR counsel and effectively manage stakeholder needs and challenges.

Foster positive stakeholder relationships and facilitate cross‑functional collaboration.

Maintain a calm, professional approach to conflict and crisis communications.

Be familiar with AI‑assisted tools for content drafting, compliance checks, and workflow efficiency.
