Weather Anchor

Overview
NPG of Yuma-El Centro in Yuma, Arizona has an immediate opening for a full-time Weather Anchor. We’re looking for an articulate meteorologist or weather anchor that can produce and present multiple weather segments during our weekday newscasts, using weather data and Baron computer graphics.

Responsibilities
The candidate will present weather information in a clear, engaging, and meaningful manner to our viewers, respond quickly to breaking weather news, and cover local weather. They will shoot, write scripts, and develop lead‑ins and other material related to weather. The candidate must also maintain a strong social media presence and post content multiple times a day on the station’s website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and their own accounts.

Qualifications

Articulate meteorologist or weather anchor

Experience producing and presenting multiple weather segments during weekday newscasts

Proficiency with Baron computer graphics

Strong passion for covering weather

Knowledge of local weather and ability to respond to breaking weather news

Strong social media presence with ability to grow it over time

Valid driver’s license

Passes drug test and background check

Spanish proficiency is a plus

Background covering weather using Baron strongly preferred
