Catholic Music Director / Musician- $50.00 Per Hour (working approx 2 hours a week)–McConnell Air Force Base, KansasThe RoleAre you an experienced Catholic musician who understands the traditions, liturgy, and music of the Roman Catholic Church? Do you have the ability to lead a choir, inspire congregational singing, and create a meaningful worship experience through music?Community Chapel is seeking a dedicated Catholic Music Director to oversee and lead the Catholic music ministry. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled musician who enjoys supporting worship through music while working closely with clergy, volunteers, and the congregation.As our Catholic Music Director, you will plan, organize, and lead music for weekly Catholic services, Holy Days of Obligation, funerals, sacramental celebrations, and other special worship events. You will direct choir rehearsals, coordinate music selections, and ensure all musical elements support the liturgy and enhance the worship experience.The Catholic Music Director will also recruit and support volunteer singers and musicians while maintaining a high-quality music program that aligns with Catholic liturgical guidelines.If you are an experienced Catholic Music Director looking for a rewarding opportunity to support Catholic worship through music, we would love to hear from you.Key Responsibilities:· Lead and direct choir rehearsals and performances· Coordinate music selections with the Catholic Chaplain or presiding priest· Lead congregational singing during services· Recruit, train, and support volunteer choir members and musicians· Schedule and organize weekly rehearsals· Provide sheet music in advance of rehearsals· Ensure audio/visual equipment is properly set up and tested· Maintain attendance records and music program documentation· Support special services including Holy Week, Christmas, funerals, confirmations, and First Holy Communion celebrations· Monitor music equipment and communicate any maintenance needsThe BenefitsCompetitive pay of $50.00 per hourFlexible part-time scheduleOpportunity to lead and shape a respected Catholic music programAdditional paid hours for special services throughout the yearSupportive and faith-focused environmentOpportunity to work closely with clergy and parish volunteersThe Person:At least two years of continuous experience directing music in a Catholic church or chapelStrong knowledge of Catholic liturgy and worship traditionsExperience leading choirs and congregational singingAbility to read music and teach vocal harmonyKnowledge of traditional, liturgical, Latin, and contemporary Catholic musicExcellent organizational and communication skillsA reference from a Catholic priest or music directorA commitment to maintaining high standards of worship music
