CNBC Events is seeking a high‑performing Marketing Director (Director Level) to join the Sales Marketing team for a maternity leave coverage position from May 2026 – December 2026.
The Marketing Director will play a critical role in developing the go‑to‑market strategy for the 2027 event sales cycle and deliver top‑notch pre‑sale support through the development of new integrated marketing opportunities, maintenance of existing opportunities, creation of customized client proposals, and management of one direct report (Creative Strategist, Event Sales Marketing). The Marketing Director will report to the SVP & Senior Executive Producer of Events and Councils.
Critical to this role is the ability to effectively collaborate with the Event Sales Vice President and Sales Directors, the Event Partner Success team, Event Leads across Audience, Production, Editorial and Councils teams, CNBC International stakeholders, CNBC D2C and Verticals teams, and Sales Marketing/Ad Sales partners across both CNBC and Versant Media.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with Sales, Production, Editorial, Audience, and Councils teams to develop a go‑to‑market strategy for 2027 and spearhead all corresponding sales collateral
- Collaborate with Event teams to develop and maintain new sales opportunities, and establish promotional plans to share opportunities both internally and externally
- Manage all sponsor benefit inventory to maximize revenue potential while avoiding the oversale of premium, exclusive benefits
- Direct the Creative Strategist, Event Sales Marketing, on day‑to‑day responsibilities, including responding to client RFPs, creating and updating compelling sales materials, tracking proposals, routing proposals for internal approvals, and ensuring smooth transition from pre‑sale to post‑sale
- Communicate with CNBC internal partners such as International and D2C/Verticals to identify collaboration opportunities to roll into CNBC Events core offerings
- Refine sales and marketing processes, where necessary, to ensure smooth workflows
- Engage with Versant Media Ad Sales and Marketing counterparts to integrate CNBC Events opportunities into larger, portfolio‑wide proposals, and participate in both internal alignment meetings and external pitches/presentations when applicable to serve as the Events brand expert

Salary Range – $110,000–$140,000
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in sales marketing, ideally with prior experience in B2B and/or News events and cross‑platform sales marketing including TV, digital, and social
- Experience as a people manager, with a history of managing at least one direct report
- Experience working successfully in a matrixed environment with cross‑functional teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced work environment
- Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate complex concepts in a simple manner
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, with an eye for visual storytelling
- Close attention to detail
- Creative, solutions‑based thinking, with the ability to quickly adapt to changing environments
- Interest and knowledge of digital technologies and current design tools
- Intellectual curiosity about and passion for finance/business/politics
Additional Requirements
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
