Job Overview We are looking for an energetic Newsletter Writer to join our team at The Wall Street Journal. In this role, you will write weekend editions of “The 10‑Point” newsletter and collaborate closely with Editor in Chief Emma Tucker to set the weekend news agenda for a vast audience of engaged readers.
Key Responsibilities Collaborate with WSJ Editor in Chief Emma Tucker to produce a lively, informative, and error‑free weekend read.
Summarize Journal coverage and source newsletter‑exclusive items from the newsroom.
Track and act on audience data to grow subscribers and strengthen reader engagement.
Work with the newsroom to enhance existing newsletters, including analyzing data, disseminating best practices, and supporting newsletter projects.
Provide writing and production support for newsletters across the portfolio.
Monitor and respond to reader emails.
Required Qualifications At least two years of journalism experience.
Strong writing and editing skills, news judgment, and the ability to meet deadlines.
Experience writing, producing or launching newsletters or a demonstrated interest in newsletters.
A proven commitment to audience‑first thinking and enthusiasm for data analysis.
A track record of working independently.
Familiarity with the Journal brand, voice and coverage, ideally in core areas such as markets, business and politics.
Work Setting This is a hybrid position with three days spent each week in the New York City office. Shift is roughly 12p.m.ET to 8p.m.ET on Tuesdays–Saturdays. You will report to the Head of Newsletters.
