The LSM (Local Store Marketing) Manager is the tactical execution arm of Guthrie’s marketing team, deploying the LSM playbook market by market, owning new-store launch marketing, and building the General Manager relationships that turn every restaurant into a local brand-building engine.
Reporting Relationship Reports directly to the Marketing Manager and VP of Operations.
Exercises direct supervision over Catering Managers within assigned territory.
Partners closely with General Managers, District Managers, and the Store Opening Specialist team.
Execute and deploy LSM playbook tactics market by market, ensuring every assigned location runs a consistent and high-quality LSM program.
Own LSM strategy for each new restaurant opening, from pre-opening community seeding through the first 90 days of stabilization, driving traffic and brand awareness from day one.
Coach and develop General Managers on LSM fundamentals: community engagement, grassroots outreach, local partnerships, and in-store traffic-building.
Build and maintain a steady cadence of local events, sponsorships, school and youth-sports partnerships, charity tie-ins, and community visibility moments per location.
Serve as the primary point of contact for marketing negotiations with LSM partners (local sponsorships, community partnerships, paid local opportunities), coordinating terms and execution alongside corporate marketing.
Collaborate with corporate marketing on the local digital presence for each restaurant (online listings, local social, reviews response, paid local advertising), providing field-level input and on-the-ground feedback.
Track LSM tactic performance per restaurant; iterate on what works and prune what doesn’t.
Supervise Catering Managers within the territory, helping them sequence catering pursuits alongside the LSM calendar.
Serve as the on-the-ground feedback loop to the Marketing Manager: trends, competitor moves, customer sentiment, and what’s actually working in-market.
Maintain flexibility to perform duties above and beyond this description as business needs evolve.
Compensation Classification Exempt
Position Requirements Marketing experience in QSR, fast-casual, retail, or community-engagement role required.
Demonstrated ability to execute a marketing playbook at scale, not just design one.
Strong people skills and the ability to coach GMs who are not direct reports.
Comfortable working hands-on at the store level: events, in-store activations, and grassroots outreach.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% within assigned markets, especially during new restaurant openings.
Flexible schedule including some nights, weekends, and holidays as needed for events and activations.
Completion of in-store training program.
Subject to background check.
Valid state‑issued driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Working Conditions Restaurant environment: kitchen and front-of-house operational equipment, including deep fryers.
Event environment: outdoor and indoor community activations and sponsorships.
Office / on-the-road: laptop- and mobile-based marketing coordination.
Maintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assigned duties, including walking or standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs. overhead, and effective audio-visual perception for observation, communication, reading, and writing.
