About the Role
Are you a master of architectural documentation with a keen eye for organization and precision? We are seeking an Architectural Technical Specialist to oversee and elevate our architectural and engineering drawing management system. In this dynamic role, you will be the gatekeeper of our digital and physical document libraries, ensuring seamless coordination between project managers, outside architects, and internal studio teams.
From maintaining CAD standards to updating lot maps and supporting small‑scale in‑house design projects, your work will directly impact the physical footprint of our iconic Culver City portfolio.
What We’re Looking For
Background: Solid foundation in architecture and/or engineering with a solid understanding of construction documentation and building codes.
Technical Expertise: Highly proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office. Comfort with scanning, digital archiving, and learning new software is a must.
Soft Skills: Exceptional critical thinking, top‑notch organizational skills, and the ability to pivot quickly in a fast‑paced environment. Work autonomously or collaboratively with a team.
Bonus Points: Previous experience in the entertainment industry, facilities, or property management. Ability to produce 3D renderings or experience with Archibus is a huge plus.
Responsibilities
Drawing & Document Management: Organize and maintain our architectural/engineering library in digital and hard‑copy formats. Manage 3rd‑party drawing management services/software.
CAD Standards & Compliance: Ensure all incoming documents from external partners meet strict SPE layering standards. Create, maintain, and enforce CAD drawing, detail, space, and signage standards across the portfolio.
Cross‑Functional Coordination: Partner with Project Managers to issue background drawings, distribute "Issue for Construction" documents to construction and specialty trades, and provide dimensioned plans to Studio Services, Events, and Operations.
System Updates (Archibus): Handle poly‑lining and data input to release updated drawings to Archibus for corporate offices, sound stages, production offices, and the general studio lot.
Fieldwork & Design: Conduct field verifications, update redline as‑built drawings, and produce pricing and construction documents for small, in‑house design/construction projects.
