Overview
The One Utah Service Fellowship (OUSF) project aims to address Utah's critical needs while improving the preparation for and prospects of success in post-secondary education or training for young adults (18+) by providing meaningful service opportunities (100–1,700 hours) in Healthy Futures, Education, and Capacity Building. The Community Placement Coordinator (Program Coordinator I) oversees placement of AmeriCorps/OUSF Fellows with non-profit, federal, state and local projects across Utah. This position works under the direction of the OUSF Director and is based at USU Salt Lake Campus in Taylorsville, UT, with a hybrid option after 90 days. Periodic travel to host partner sites is required. The role is permanent, contingent on continued grant and state appropriated funding. Job offer contingent upon successful completion of a background check.

Responsibilities
Responsibility Number: 1 Rank: 1 Percent: 80%

Coordinates the OUSF Community Placement program (Summer of Service, Year of Service, and Youth Engagement Support Program).

Oversees the full lifecycle of OUSF Community Placement applications, ensuring compliance with program guidelines and AmeriCorps requirements.

Designs, implements, and continuously improves Community Placement operational procedures, including member onboarding, orientation, training, and professional development strategies.

Provides strategic leadership and technical guidance to partner site supervisors and OUSF AmeriCorps Community Placement members to ensure alignment with program goals and compliance standards.

Leads the ongoing evaluation of program performance by monitoring goals, outputs, and outcomes, and implementing data-informed improvements to enhance impact.

Develops and expands program capacity by mentoring members, facilitating training opportunities, coordinating networking events, and promoting best practices across service sites.

Manages logistical planning for Community Placement activities, including the coordination of travel, reimbursements, and per diem support related to member training and development.

Partners with public relations and marketing teams across organizations to enhance visibility and public engagement for OUSF Community Placements through coordinated communications strategies.

Ensures operational consistency across Community Placement programs by aligning practices with OUSF staff and administrative leadership.

Represents the program in professional conferences, trainings, and statewide meetings to enhance operations, foster innovation, and build collaborative relationships.

Conducts regular site visits to partner service locations throughout Utah, ensuring alignment with program goals and quality assurance standards.

Liaises with USU Student Affairs Business Services to ensure efficient onboarding and exit procedures for AmeriCorps members in accordance with institutional and federal guidelines.

Strategic Program Support
Responsibility Number: 2 Rank: 2 Percent: 20%

Collaborates with the Program Director on long-term planning, sustainability strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives for the OUSF program.

Leads or supports the development of grant proposals and funding applications in alignment with programmatic objectives; may contribute to fundraising initiatives.

Manages OUSF MarCom Fellow over content creation and updates for the program's digital presence, including website content and social media in collaboration.

Authors and edits a wide range of internal and external communications materials such as training manuals, newsletters, promotional brochures, and educational publications.

Conducts research, analyzes data, and prepares presentations or reports to support executive decision-making, policy development, and strategic planning.

Provides leadership in the planning and execution of program initiatives and events, ensuring alignment with AmeriCorps regulations and institutional priorities.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

Four years of experience; OR an associate degree/technical training plus two years of experience; OR a bachelor's degree, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of AmeriCorps/National Service and program management preferred.

Experience developing partnerships with federal, state, and non-profit organizations for internship placements preferred.

Experience working with diverse populations.

Associates or Bachelor's degree.

National Service Alum.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and partnership-building skills.

Advanced organizational skills and ability to use multiple data tracking/reporting systems.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Program leadership and development experience.

Knowledge of AmeriCorps/National Service, community volunteerism, non-profit organizations, K-12 Education, Higher Education, and fundraising desired.

Advertised Salary
Minimum $45,670 commensurate with experience, plus excellent benefits.

Setting: Office, hybrid. Work Hours: Standard hours with some flexibility. Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not necessarily occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
