Assistant Designer – Lee
Kontoor Brands is currently seeking an Assistant Designer to support our Lee Design team. This full‑time, onsite position at our corporate headquarters in Greensboro, NC, reports to the Designer and is responsible for supporting all design activities related to Lee Design.

The Assistant Designer will assist with cross‑functional work streams to drive new, trend‑right, and innovative products that are consistent with the merchandising brief and true to the Brand DNA. Responsibilities include learning and developing foundational design skills, understanding the design process and efficiencies, and providing day‑to‑day support to the team.

Responsibilities

Assist the Design team in developing and designing seasonal product lines and special projects, including fabric, trims, artwork, and overall style details.

Enter and track all virtual and physical prototypes.

Support the team in building Design presentations and decks, and create and maintain Design cadsheets.

Develop and maintain the Design Development Tracker.

Work with the Designer to approve color lab dips, strike-offs, and handlooms.

Build out 3D CADs for the line assortment in collaboration with the Designer.

Create plaids and simple repeats for each new seasonal collection.

Take notes during prototypes and fit reviews and other key milestone meetings.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in apparel design, art, graphics, or an equivalent combination of experience (preferred).

One year of professional experience and/or training in apparel design.

Illustration skills, including hand sketching, Illustrator capabilities, and good color sense.

Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (required).

Familiarity with V-Stitcher/3D design (preferred but not required).

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs – Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Ability to think creatively, focus on details, and commit to high quality of work.

Highly organized with strong communication skills.

Strong multi‑tasking capabilities and flexibility with time and responsibilities.

Positive attitude, outlook, and team‑player mentality.
