Job type:
Full Time

SwiftSku (YC W21) is the operating system for convenience retail, connecting brands, retailers, and e-commerce through real-time data, AI, and automation across 3,000+ locations and growing.

We’re looking for a Director of Trade Promotion Optimization to build and lead our trade optimization practice. This is a chance to shape how the world’s largest CPG brands invest millions in trade spend across the most underserved channel in American retail: independent operators and mid-market convenience chains.

If you’ve spent your career optimizing trade investments at a leading CPG manufacturer, convenience retailer, or RGM organization and want to use AI and large-scale retail data to transform how promotions are planned and measured, we’d love to talk.

The Role

  • Build and lead SwiftSku’s TPO practice, developing the frameworks, playbooks, and measurement standards that define how leading CPG brands invest across 3,000+ convenience retail locations
  • Analyze retailer buy-downs, scan-based promotions, TPRs, display programs, and digital campaigns to identify where trade spend is working and where it isn’t
  • Model trade spend scenarios, conduct post-event analyses, and translate findings into actionable investment recommendations for brand and retail partners
  • Use advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and AI to forecast promotional outcomes and build TPO capabilities directly into the SwiftSku platform
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for CPG manufacturers managing multimillion-dollar trade budgets, presenting insights and recommendations to senior executives

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years in Trade Promotion Optimization, Revenue Growth Management, Category Management, or Commercial Analytics at a leading CPG manufacturer, convenience retail chain, or distributor
  • Deep understanding of retailer buy-downs, TPRs, scan-based promotions, shopper marketing, and promotional funding models
  • Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau and familiarity with TPM/TPO platforms
  • Experience with NielsenIQ, Circana/IRI, or retailer POS data preferred; background in convenience retail, beverages, snacks, or tobacco a plus
