Position Overview
The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for driving total park revenue, attendance, and brand awareness through integrated sales strategies and innovative marketing initiatives.

This role oversees all sales channels and marketing efforts, including group sales, partnerships, digital marketing, promotions, and local market engagement. You will lead the strategy and execution of campaigns that increase visitation, season pass sales, and in-park spending.

This position serves as the chief commercial strategist for the park, accountable for top-line revenue performance, market positioning, and long-term brand equity.

Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth

Develop and execute strategies to grow group sales, corporate events, youth programs, and tour operator partnerships

Drive season pass and ticket sales through targeted promotions and partnerships

Build relationships with hotels, DMOs, travel agencies, and local businesses to increase visitation

Identify and secure new revenue streams, including sponsorships and packaged experiences

Oversee pricing strategies, promotions, and sales forecasting to maximize revenue

Develop comprehensive revenue management and segmentation strategies across domestic and international markets

Establish sales targets, quotas, and territory strategies aligned to attendance and revenue goals

Lead contract negotiations, strategic partnerships, and licensing agreements with corporate clients and sponsors

Drive B2B sales channels including conventions, associations, schools, and group tour markets

Collaborate with operations and finance to optimize yield, capacity utilization, and per capita spend

Continuously evaluate competitive pricing and positioning within the Central Florida attractions market

Marketing Strategy & Brand Development

Lead the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns (digital, social, email, influencer, and traditional media)

Strengthen Island H2O's brand positioning as a must-visit attraction in Central Florida

Oversee content strategy, advertising, and promotional calendars

Analyze campaign performance and optimize based on ROI and guest insights

Manage agency partners, media buying, and creative direction

Own the end-to-end brand strategy, ensuring consistent messaging and guest experience across all channels

Lead public relations strategy, media outreach, press events, and influencer partnerships

Oversee experiential marketing, events, and on-site activations that enhance guest engagement

Direct market research, competitive analysis, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities

Position the park as a premier regional destination through storytelling, partnerships, and innovation

Digital & Performance Marketing

Drive online ticket sales and conversion optimization

Oversee SEO/SEM, paid social, and retargeting strategies

Utilize data analytics to improve customer acquisition and retention

Enhance CRM and email marketing strategies for repeat visitation

Implement full-funnel marketing strategies focused on acquisition, conversion, and retention

Leverage marketing automation platforms, personalization, and lifecycle campaigns to increase LTV (lifetime value)

Track and optimize CAC (Customer Acquisition Cost), ROAS, and digital conversion metrics

Develop data-driven attribution models to measure campaign effectiveness across channels

Oversee website UX/UI, e-commerce functionality, and mobile optimization

Leadership & Team Development

Build and lead a high-performing sales and marketing team

Establish clear KPIs tied to attendance, revenue, and ROI

Manage departmental budgets and ensure efficient allocation of resources

Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and performance

Provide executive leadership, mentoring, and succession planning for sales and marketing team members

Align cross-functional teams (operations, finance, guest experience) to achieve business objectives

Develop annual strategic plans, budgets, and long-range growth forecasts

Drive organizational performance through data, accountability, and continuous improvement initiatives

Financial Oversight & Performance Management (Added Section)

Own and manage multi-million-dollar marketing and sales budgets

Deliver against key revenue KPIs including total attendance, ticket yield, per capita spend, and market share growth

Monitor and report on sales pipeline, forecasting accuracy, and campaign ROI

Use performance dashboards and analytics to guide strategy and decision-making

Present performance reports and strategic recommendations to executive leadership

Season pass sales and renewal rates

Per capita spending (F&B, retail, upgrades)

Revenue growth (YoY, per channel, per segment)

Digital conversion rates and online ticket sales

Customer acquisition cost (CAC) and lifetime value (LTV)

Group sales volume and partnership revenue

Brand awareness and market share

Qualifications

5+ years of leadership experience in sales and/or marketing, preferably in attractions, theme parks, hospitality, or entertainment

8–12+ years of progressive experience strongly preferred, including senior leadership responsibility

Proven track record of driving revenue growth and attendance

Strong understanding of digital marketing, brand strategy, and sales channels

Experience with tourism sales, group sales, and partnerships

Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); CRM and marketing platforms a plus

Bachelor's degree preferred (Marketing, Business, Hospitality, or related field)

Experience managing large-scale budgets, agencies, and multi-channel campaigns

Deep understanding of tourism, attractions, and destination marketing ecosystems

Established network within hospitality, travel, and entertainment sectors preferred
