Position Purpose
The Program Coordinator at the Dartmouth Center for Social Impact (DCSI) works to advise, train, and guide students, coordinate events and program logistics, and collaborate with a team to educate Dartmouth students to be transformative leaders in our community.

The Program Coordinator will play a critical support role for a portfolio of community‑engaged learning programs and will have the opportunity to manage some projects independently. This position partners with the nonprofit community to carry out programs that improve outcomes for Upper Valley communities while supporting undergraduates to cultivate their skills, scholarship and passion for the common good.

Responsibilities

Provide programmatic coordination and logistical support for a portfolio of co‑curricular community‑engaged learning programs including program planning and logistics, event management, risk management, assessment, student recruitment, student training, and reflection.

Manage and oversee DCSI vehicle fleet and driver training processes, setting and implementing vehicle policies, managing compliance with college‑approved driver processes, executing vehicle scheduling, collaborating with college vehicle rental vendors, and scheduling and tracking vehicle maintenance.

Advise, guide, and connect students interested in addressing social sector issues and social justice to appropriate opportunities, coordinating relationships with community agencies to provide referral access to volunteer opportunities.

Build and cultivate relationships with various stakeholders (students, alumni, community partners, staff, faculty). Collaborate to develop and execute events and outreach to increase knowledge of the Center and social impact opportunities.

Demonstrate professionalism and collegiality in all interactions and communications, ensuring a welcoming environment for all.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and 2‑3 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

One or two years of work experience within the social sector or education (student experience considered).

Interest in and commitment to service, social impact, and the common good.

Excellent organizational skills and ability to plan and prioritize work.

Relevant experience working with high‑achieving college‑age students.

Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to tailor communication to various stakeholders.

Proficiency with computer applications (Word, Excel, Internet, database management, etc.).

Experience with event and project coordination.

Valid U.S. driver’s license.

Physical ability to walk moderate distances, access vehicles, and lift up to 20 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with youth development, mentoring, or education programming in the nonprofit or social sector.

Familiarity with best practices in community‑engaged experiential learning.

Knowledge of and commitment to the social sector and nonprofits.

Training, teaching, or facilitation skills.

Strong self‑awareness, interpersonal and collaborative abilities; demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
