About the Role
The Office of Enrollment Management Communications at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville invites applications for a Recruitment Communications Coordinator.
The role is an on‑campus position with hybrid/remote flexibility.
Responsibilities include implementing strategic recruitment tactics, maintaining lead generation platforms, collaborating on lead generation strategy, managing digital marketing, and executing communication strategies for prospective students.

Minimum starting salary $53,938; final compensation based on qualifications and experience.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree.
Minimum 2+ years of professional experience, including internship or practicum experience, related to duties and responsibilities.
Experience working under tight deadlines.
Experience with mass email & SMS distribution programs.
Experience with Mac operating systems and Microsoft Office.
Familiarity with databases and list management.
Preferred Education and Experience
Slate, Salesforce, or other similar CRM systems.
Asana or other project management system.
Emma, MailChimp, Constant Contact or other email marketing platform.
SCOIR, Intersect, College Greenlight, Campus Reel, or other college recruitment platforms.
HTML editors and coding.
Dynamic form content.
Tableau dashboards and developing campaign reports.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of digital marketing, HTML email, and SMS text marketing best practices.
Knowledge of CRM systems and dynamic form content.
Data‑driven, adaptable mindset that can make changes mid‑campaign.
Ability to manage and lead multiple concurrent projects from a variety of stakeholders.
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to produce high‑quality work fast.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to develop written communications for various audiences and mediums.
Flexibility to learn, adapt to change, and be innovative.
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at various levels and backgrounds.

Willingness to cross‑train and learn other skills from the EM Communications team.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of higher education workflow.
Knowledge and understanding of one or more production disciplines: print, digital, and broadcast (multimedia).
Knowledge of Slate or similar CRM and Asana or similar project management system.
Knowledge of social media platforms such as X, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok.
Knowledge of university style and communications standards.
Ability to develop content for different audiences and maintain consistent brand/voice.
Ability to interpret data and read reports to make best decisions for future campaigns.

Division Overview
The Enrollment Management division has over 190 full‑time staff serving students in various departments. It supports undergraduate admissions, international recruitment, transfer center, student services, financial aid, and more.

Key Tasks
Coordinate content development and strategy for mass email & SMS marketing.
Monitor data health and accuracy in Slate and provide updates to ensure smooth campaigns.
Collaborate with the Office of Communication & Marketing to improve digital marketing partnerships and streamline RFI lead generation and nurturing.
Influence and support selection of university names for licensing and outreach strategies.
Monitor content lead generation platforms such as Niche, SCOIR, College Board Connections, and others.
Contribute to admissions recruitment tactics by developing content for prospective first‑year, transfer, and international students and families.
Develop strategic communication plans for recruitment and outreach efforts.
Create content for websites, print pieces, and social media for prospective student audiences.
Lead and maintain strategic RFI management.
Communicate project requirements, deliverables, and production timelines with stakeholders.
Develop a communication schedule, confirm timing with stakeholders, and monitor delivery.
Monitor content calendar to ensure optimal timing for various digital and tangible marketing collateral.
