Job Summary
This Broadcast Producer Senior position will host music shifts (live and recorded), program and oversee music scheduling for the station, produce content for air using digital editing software, fundraise as needed, and represent the station at concerts and community events.
Essential Functions
40% – Host live and recorded air shifts, requiring excellent on‑air presentation.
30% – Schedule music for the station, requiring deep knowledge of genre and ability to manage complex industry standards for audio use and rotation.
20% – Produce content across two formats using digital editing software.
10% – Represent the station at concerts and community events, fundraise, and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution in journalism, radio/television, broadcasting or a directly related field and two years of broadcast production experience; or an equivalent combination of degree and directly related full‑time work experience as described above.
Desired Qualifications
Three (3) years of experience hosting jazz radio air shifts.
Three (3) years of experience producing content for air using digital editing software.
Two (2) years of experience scheduling genre‑related music using industry‑scheduling software (e.g., Music Master).
One (1) year of experience representing a radio station at concerts and community events.
One (1) year of full‑time relevant MCCCD experience during the previous two (2) years.
Special Working Conditions
Travel to campuses during interview/selection at the candidate’s own expense; required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations; may require some evenings or weekends; may require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen; may be required to lift or carry up to 25 pounds.
