Job Title The role involves assisting the Director and Deputy Director for Public Affairs and Communication in overseeing, directing, and managing NAVFAC's internal and external information program.
The responsibilities include acting as an advisor to NAVFAC lower echelon public affairs officers on public and employee information matters, providing support and reach-back as needed to ensure mission accomplishment.
Additionally, the role requires maintaining effective working relationships with various trade associations, news media, Navy and Marine Corps affiliated organizations, veteran groups, and Department of Defense personnel.
The individual will formulate communication strategies, guidance, and policies to enhance public and employee understanding, support, and acceptance of NAVFAC programs and activities.
Research and development of informational materials and communication campaigns for information release to audiences through various channels will be part of the role.
Responding to media requests for information, both routine and time-sensitive, is also expected.
The role involves creating new or adapting accepted communications campaign formats to reach target audiences with specific messages.
Preparing content/materials that explain/describe the NAVFAC mission, accomplishments, policies, programs, and initiatives is required.
The individual will prepare content/materials that include news releases, web content, audio, video, social media, fact sheets, feature stories, briefing cards, contract announcements, etc.
