Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The

Retail Producer plays a critical role in Goodwill’s Donated Goods& Retail (DGR) optimization strategy bydeterminingtheappropriate retailvalue, pricing, and presentation of donated merchandise. This position supportsspeed-to-floor, revenue maximization, and product quality by applying established pricing guidelines and1-Touchprinciples to minimize handling and rework.

The Retail Producerensures that merchandise is accurately priced, properlyidentifiedfor specialized sales channels (including e-commerce when applicable), and staged for efficient movement to the sales floor.

Evaluate donated merchandise to determine appropriate pricing based on condition, category, and established guidelines.

Apply pricing tags accurately and consistently.

Utilize1-Touchprinciples to minimize rehandling and delays.

Support speed-to-floor objectives by processing merchandise efficiently.

Occasional work in a sorting capacity as needed or required.

Quality Assessment & Value Optimization

Assess merchandise quality, completeness, and sell ability.

Identify items appropriate for alternative sales channels, including e-commerce, as defined by policy.

Remove damaged, unsafe, or non-sellable items from retail flow.

Maintain consistency in pricing and quality standards across categories.

Prepare merchandise for retail presentation, including tagging, bundling, or staging.

Coordinate with store staff to ensure timely placement on the sales floor.

Maintain organized processing areas to support efficient workflow.

Safety, Compliance & Equipment Use

Follow all safety procedures related to lifting, material handling, and equipment use.

Use approved tools and equipment safely, including carts, racks, and tagging equipment.

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.

Work collaboratively with Sorters, Donation Attendants, and others.

Communicate issues related to quality, pricing, or flow to supervisors or managers.

Provide feedback and suggestions to improve efficiency and revenue outcomes.
