Adjuncts are essential to Liberty University’s mission of training champions for Christ. It is expected that an adjunct member models a personal commitment to the goals and values of Liberty University, engaging in a commitment to personal spiritual formation within a biblically informed Christian worldview.

Teach Residential Dance courses in the Department of Theatre Arts. Candidates must be committed to excellence in teaching.

The teaching assignments include dance technique and lecture courses. The applicant should highlight the dance forms or dance studies they are well prepared to instruct. The position requires a love of teaching, the ability to communicate effectively in written and oral formats, knowledge of pedagogical best practices, the ability to use current teaching technology (LMS, e-textbooks, etc.), and a commitment to the evangelical standards and mission of Liberty University.

Responsibilities

Teach residential dance courses and lecture courses in the Department of Theatre Arts.

Design and deliver engaging lessons incorporating best pedagogical practices.

Use current teaching technology (e.g., LMS, e-textbooks) to enhance learning.

Record attendance, grades, and academic progress in Canvas.

Manage classroom dynamics and allocate teaching resources effectively.

Strictly adhere to Liberty University policies, representing the university in an exemplary manner.

Work effectively as a team member, fostering the mission of LU.

Qualifications

Ability to understand, speak, and write English to convey messages and correspond in an articulate and professional manner.

Strong organizational skills.

Advanced computer skills.

Experience with Canvas and related LMS.

Education and Experience
MA with 18 hours of graduate dance courses or an MFA in Dance. Previous teaching experience is recommended.
