Job Description
Brown University Athletics is seeking candidates for the Communications Assistant seasonal position. The successful candidate will assist in the social media, content, and game day needs of assigned varsity sports. This position will serve as the primary contact for select sports and assist with day-to-day operations of the athletic communications office.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Assist with content and social media efforts for primary and secondary sport assignments.

Assist with game day coverage of primary and secondary sport assignments, including managing social accounts, keeping statistics, and posting pre‑, post‑, and in‑game content.

Write press releases to appear on BrownBears.com.

Maintain daily internal and external communications for primary sport assignments.

Perform additional duties and assist with other projects as assigned.

Ability to work nights and weekends.

Assist with in‑office tasks such as sorting/archiving photos, producing game notes, writing press releases, and updating record books.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED.

Interest in collegiate athletics, athletic administration, or communications and social media.

Familiarity with social platforms, specifically Instagram, Twitter/X, and TikTok.

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere.

Familiarity with DSLR cameras, Canon preferred.

Strong understanding of a wide range of sports, their rules and statistics.

Strong writing skills.

Strong attention to detail.

Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication and computer skills.

Ability to stay calm under pressure and multitask.
