Production Technician

Job Overview Production Technician – Pearl River, NY. Join Sanofi’s Manufacturing & Supply team in the downstream processing and buffer preparation areas of a cGMP commercial manufacturing facility. You will operate, maintain, clean, and sanitize general manufacturing equipment and support the production of the Flublok drug substance.
Responsibilities Operate and maintain downstream processing equipment (stainless‑steel vessels, transfer lines, tube welders, tube sealers, peristaltic pumps, WFI taps) in accordance with cGMP, GDP, and SOP requirements.
Execute large‑scale processes such as centrifugation, depth filtration, chromatography column purification & packing, tangential flow filtration, and clean‑in‑place/steam‑in‑place operations.
Perform cleaning, sanitization, and preparation of workspaces and biosafety cabinets.
Practice aseptic technique, preventive maintenance, and effect changeovers for area equipment, including magnetic mixers, pH / conductivity meters, and turbidity meters.
Troubleshoot equipment or process problems in downstream and buffer preparation areas and assist in resolving manufacturing quality issues.
Enter data into databases, cross‑train, and operate in flexible or flex areas as needed.
Participate in facility cleaning per sanitized maintenance SOPs and follow established SOPs for material, personnel, and equipment flow.
Work a flexible schedule with weekends, holidays, and extended hours; accommodate production requirements that may involve 50‑plus hour weeks, 2nd shift, split shift, or extended day hours.
Collaborate with Compliance on deviations and CAPAs, providing information during investigations.
Qualifications High School Diploma with at least 1 year of related work experience or a Bachelor’s Degree without prior experience.
Preferred training or experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of cGMP, GDP, and standard operating procedures.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Basic understanding of the Baculovirus Expression Vector System (BEVS) is desired but not required.
Strong communication and social skills; ability to take initiative, troubleshoot, propose solutions, and keep management informed.
Ability to stand, bend, squat, reach, and lift up to approximately 50 lbs. Frequently work on weekends and support flexible schedules.
Acceptance of potentially hazardous materials and compliance with safety procedures.
Physical Demands The role requires standing for several hours at a time, bending, squatting, reaching, and lifting or pulling items up to 50 lbs. Employees must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
