Merck & Co. is a global health care leader committed to developing and manufacturing a wide range of animal health products. This role is part of our Millsboro, DE manufacturing facility and supports the production of veterinary pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and health management solutions.
Responsibilities Operate a variety of manufacturing equipment and complete processes throughout the manufacturing cycle
Assist with equipment setup and operation
Perform manual and automated operations, general maintenance and support functions
Maintain housekeeping in all work areas and execute facility decontamination according to approved procedures
Assist with aseptic procedures including media preparation, antigen inoculation and harvest, tissue culture preparation and harvest, and filling of vaccines
Assist with non-aseptic procedures such as handling live poultry during tissue harvesting and waste processing
Fill, label, cap, package, and inspect products
Maintain concurrent record keeping, including charts, log books, and all pertinent documentation
Identify and address compliance, environmental, safety, and process deviations and notify appropriate personnel
Accountable for accumulation, labeling, and management of hazardous wastes as trained
Demonstrate safe work habits and maintain a safe work environment at all times
Assist in weekly reports and attend training, workshops, and meetings as required
Required Education High school diploma or GED.
Required Experience Ability to operate manufacturing equipment with training; strong attention to detail and documentation skills; general knowledge of reading, mathematics, and computer skills; ability to communicate and cooperate with other employees in a manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions This position may have varying hours based on business needs, may require rotating shift, and requires flexibility for overtime (up to 10%). Travel is not required.
Physical Requirements Successful completion of a Physical Abilities Test is required.
