About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Production Technician
Oxygen Transfill to join our production team. In this role, you will participate in all aspects of filling high-pressure medical oxygen cylinders in a regulated production environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring medical oxygen products are filled, inspected, documented, and stored according to company procedures and FDA requirements.
This is a hands-on production role with performance expectations. Team members are expected to work toward completing one rack every 15 minutes (48 cylinders per rack), with noticeable productivity improvement expected by the fourth week of training.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect and prepare aluminum and steel oxygen cylinders for filling.
Connect cylinders to filling manifolds and perform oxygen filling operations.
Disconnect, test, and inspect cylinders to verify filling requirements.
Complete post-fill processing and quality inspections.
Store completed oxygen cylinders in designated warehouse locations.
Accurately document production activities, lot numbers, batch records, maintenance logs, and inspection data.
Maintain organized and compliant production records in accordance with FDA regulations.
Ensure workstations remain clean, safe, and efficient.
Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
Support additional production and warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Ability to communicate effectively in person.
Basic manufacturing or warehouse knowledge.
Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to complete required job-specific training and pass competency assessments.
Preferred
Technical degree, vocational training, or relevant technical experience.
Experience working with chemicals, hazardous gases, or gas analysis.
Experience in an FDA-regulated manufacturing environment.
Previous forklift experience.
Ability to obtain oxygen handling certification if required by state or federal regulations.
Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent physical activity throughout the shift, including:
Repetitive lifting of cylinders weighing up to 15 pounds.
Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting.
Repeated movement of cylinders from floor level to inspection tables and filling racks up to 6 feet high.
Frequent use of hands for gripping, handling tools, and operating equipment.
Ability to push or pull cylinder containers weighing up to 1,200 pounds using pallet jacks or material handling equipment.
Ability to read documentation and accurately record information.
Use of required PPE including steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, and gloves.
Work Environment
Industrial production and warehouse environment.
Exposure to varying noise levels; hearing protection provided as needed.
Combination of climate-controlled indoor areas and occasional outdoor conditions.
Work performed around high-pressure oxygen filling equipment.
