About the Role
The Music Shop is seeking a friendly, motivated Full-Time Retail Sales Associate with a passion for music and strong communication skills to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment.

The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with customers, has strong computer skills, possesses knowledge of band and/or orchestral musical instruments and products, This role requires 40 hours per week on site - Tuesday thru Saturday

Responsibilities

Retail Sales & Customer Service

Provide excellent customer service in person, phone, and email, especially during peak hours with high foot traffic

Assist customers with musical instrument, accessory, and equipment purchases

Process transactions and operate the cash register/POS system

Handle Cash, returns, exchanges, and customer inquiries

Stay up to date on product knowledge and new inventory

Maintain store cleanliness, merchandising, and an inviting storefront

Qualifications

Retail Experience

Previous musical retail experience preferred

Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

Basic knowledge of musical instruments, accessories, and equipment

Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectively

Self-starter with a passion for music and helping others

Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate

Eagerness to learn new skills and product knowledge

High School Diploma required; degree in Music or related field is a plus

Playing one or more musical instruments preferred

Compensation
This is a full-time, onsite role at The Music Shop in Boonton, NJ. Pay will be in the range of $22-$25 per hour, commensurate with experience. We offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package, including:
