Job Administration/Production Control Technician
The Financial Information Services Agency (FISA) has a vacancy for the role reporting to the night Shift Supervisor. The position is responsible for monitoring job flows controlled by the CA Workload Automation DE (dSeries) scheduling system. Jobs run on z/OS mainframe, UNIX, or PeopleSoft servers. The technician must respond quickly to job failures, determine the cause, and contact the appropriate on‑call staff for remediation. The candidate will occasionally migrate software to production or test environments. Additional duties include documenting problems, setting up job flow dependencies, and executing/troubleshooting test flows.

Preferred Skills

Extensive experience in Production Control with mainframe or mid‑range computers

Experience troubleshooting JCL errors and using GDGs, File‑AID, IDCAMS

Knowledge of CA Workload Automation DE or similar scheduling package

Knowledge of z/OS JCL and TSO/ISPF

Experience with mainframe compile, link, and bind procedures

Familiarity with file transfer protocols (FTPS, Connect:Direct)

Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills with understanding of SDLC methodologies

Knowledge of IMS, D82, UNIX, PUTTY, WinSCP

Familiarity with Rational Tools (ClearQuest, ClearCase) and MS Word/Excel

Knowledge of PeopleSoft People Tools (Process Monitor)

Experience

3‑5 years of related scheduling experience with a Windows‑based scheduling system

5 years of experience escalating and documenting critical job failures and schedule problems

5 years of hands‑on work executing and troubleshooting scheduler, batch processes, and cycle flows

Hours and Shift
This position is a 3‑day work week, consecutive days, from 7:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. including weekends and holidays. Days worked rotate on a predetermined schedule (4 weeks Mon‑Wed then 4 weeks Thu‑Sat).

Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree in computer science, engineering, or related field and four years of full‑time experience in information technology service management, process management, or operations.

Baccalaureate degree and eight years of full‑time experience in the same areas.

Education and/or experience equivalent to options 1 or 2.
