Role Description

The Associate Technical Designer, Women’s RTW, will support the technical design process from development through production for the ready-to-wear collection. This full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY involves preparing and updating technical packages, measuring samples, and ensuring accurate construction details and specifications. The associate will participate in fittings, record fit comments, and communicate pattern and construction adjustments to internal teams and external vendors. Day-to-day responsibilities include partnering closely with design and production to maintain brand standards, troubleshoot fit and quality issues, and help manage timelines so styles are delivered on schedule. The role also requires maintaining organized documentation, tracking sample status, and contributing to continuous improvements in fit, quality, and consistency across the line.
Qualifications

Strong skills in Technical Design and understanding of Women’s RTW standards.
Knowledge of Garment Construction and Fitting, including evaluating fit, balance, and workmanship.
Experience with Pattern Making and interpreting patterns for style and fit adjustments.
Ability to apply structured thinking and an “architecture” mindset to garment engineering and specifications.
Proficiency with technical packets, measurements, and garment specification sheets; experience with Excel or similar systems is a plus.
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with design, production, and vendor partners.
Previous experience in contemporary or luxury women’s RTW technical design preferred; associate or bachelor’s degree in fashion design, technical design, or a related field is beneficial.
