Job Title Business Development Manager
Job Description Our client is an established, family-owned supplier of corks, glass bottles, and packaging products for the wine and beverage alcohol industry. The company serves wineries, vineyards, winemakers, and beverage producers that depend on reliable packaging supply, responsive service, and long-term vendor relationships. This is a relationship-driven business where product quality, trust, timing, and customer service matter. The team is small, experienced, and highly connected in the wine industry. They are continuing to grow and are looking for a sales professional who can strengthen relationships in an established territory while also opening new doors with prospective customers.
Our client is hiring a Business Development Manager to cover a key Napa/Sonoma County wine territory. This person will manage and grow an existing book of business while also developing new winery and vineyard relationships throughout the region. The primary territory runs from Napa Valley, Sonoma, and as far south as Monterey. This is a field-based role with significant travel throughout the territory. The right person should enjoy being out in the market, meeting customers face to face, building trust, attending industry events, and creating long-term business partnerships.
This role is both account management and a heavy emphasis on new business development. The person hired will be expected to protect and grow existing accounts, identify new opportunities, generate meetings, build pipeline, and win new customers. The strongest candidates will already understand the wine industry and have relationships with winemakers, buyers, winery operators, or other key decision makers.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of territory sales experience, wine industry knowledge, relationship-building ability, and competitive drive.
Must-have qualifications:
2–3+ years of territory sales, outside sales, business development, or account management experience
Proven ability to generate new business, set meetings, build pipeline, and grow revenue

Comfort with significant travel throughout the Napa/Sonoma County Territory and other parts of the region
Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to create trust with customers
High-energy, self-starting, competitive approach to sales
Ability to work independently and manage a territory without heavy daily oversight
Strong communication, follow-up, organization, and problem-solving skills
Comfort selling in a relationship-driven industry where reputation and credibility matter
Strongly preferred qualifications:
Wine industry sales experience
Existing relationships with winemakers, buyers, winery owners, vineyard operators, or beverage industry decision makers

Familiarity with the Napa/Sonoma County wine market, including nearby regions
Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience
