Overview

The Associate Director, Visual Storytelling & Content Systems is a highly skilled contributor responsible for translating complex ideas into clear, compelling visual content and building scalable systems that improve how content is created and used across the organization. Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing Operations & Experience, this role operates at the intersection of content creation and content infrastructure—producing high‑impact materials while developing templates and maintaining a digital asset management (DAM) system that enables teams to work more efficiently. This is a hands‑on role for someone who thrives in fast‑paced environments, is comfortable working from ambiguity, and can quickly turn discussions into structured, high‑quality outputs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate discussions, notes, and rough inputs into clear, structured visual content such as presentations, one‑pagers, and internal materials.
  • Design and deliver polished, executive‑ready assets with strong attention to layout, hierarchy, and clarity.
  • Synthesize complex or evolving ideas into concise, easy‑to‑understand narratives.
  • Iterate rapidly based on feedback, balancing speed with quality.
  • Participate in meetings and working sessions to capture key ideas and translate them into structured outputs, asking clarifying questions and developing initial drafts quickly.
  • Develop and maintain templates for common organizational materials (presentations, one‑pagers, updates) and build reusable content frameworks and modular slide libraries to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Establish clear standards for formatting, structure, and visual storytelling across all content.
  • Manage and maintain the organization’s content library, ensuring assets are organized, up to date, and accessible; define folder structures, naming conventions, and version‑control practices.
  • Curate and prioritize key materials to support reuse and self‑service across teams.
  • Manage relationships with select external vendors and freelancers, develop briefs, provide feedback, and ensure quality of deliverables; coordinate vendor output to support internal content needs.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams to understand needs and deliver high‑quality content; manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast‑paced, feedback‑driven environment.
  • Maintain responsiveness and adaptability as priorities shift.
  • Mentor and coach a small number of current students, participating in weekly group sessions and learning‑community activities.

Qualifications

  • ~8 years of experience in content development, visual design, marketing, or a related field.
  • Strong hands‑on design experience with presentations, one‑pagers, and internal materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex ideas into clear, structured content in ambiguous environments.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office, and similar design platforms.
  • Experience developing templates and reusable content systems.
  • Familiarity with digital asset management (DAM) systems or comparable content libraries.
  • Experience working with external vendors or freelancers is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Compensation

Salary range: $103,300 – $134,900.
