We are seeking an accomplished Managing Director – Capital Markets & Family Office Relations to spearhead our equity capital raising initiatives and drive the expansion of our Build-to-Rent platform across the Midwest. Responsibilities
- Lead capital formation efforts by developing and managing relationships with high-net-worth investors, family offices, registered investment advisors (RIAs), and private investor networks.
- Source and cultivate investor pipelines, coordinating meetings and follow-ups to secure commitments and drive investment in our development projects.
- Conduct investor presentations, site visits, and due diligence activities to effectively communicate investment opportunities.
- Utilize CRM tools to manage investor interactions, track prospects, and report on capital commitments and pipeline value.
- Build and maintain referral channels with attorneys, CPAs, wealth advisors, family office consultants, and investment bankers to enhance investor outreach.
- Provide strategic insights and reporting on market trends, risk factors, and economic conditions to inform investor decision-making.
- Foster trust and long-term relationships with investors by demonstrating executive presence and deep industry knowledge.
Qualifications
Must-Have
- Established network of relationships with family offices, wealth advisors, RIAs, investor groups, and real estate investors.
- Proven track record of raising $250M - $500M in private capital.
- Experience in real estate sectors including multifamily, Build-to-Rent, single-family, and private real estate funds.
- Strong understanding of investment metrics such as IRR, preferred returns, waterfalls, capital stacks, and development timelines.
- Ability to communicate effectively with diverse investor profiles, from individual investors to large family offices.
Nice-to-Have
- Experience in building referral networks and partnerships within the financial advisory community.
- Familiarity with investor relations best practices and family office investment processes.
- Proficiency in CRM management, particularly with HubSpot or similar platforms.
