Job Description Summary The Dual Registered Technologist reports to the Imaging Director. Under general supervision, the Radiology and CT/MRI/Mammography Dual Registered Technologist performs high quality Radiology/CT/MRI or Mammography examinations in accordance with established protocols on patient populations ranging from neonate through geriatrics for interpretation by a physician.
Responsibilities Operates imaging equipment: Radiology and CT, MRI or Mammography, following radiation safety guidelines based on hospital policy and regulatory requirements. Provides radiographic support for all areas of the Hospital as needed. Positions patients accurately for specific anatomic imaging using appropriate immobilization devices when required. Avoids excessive repeated examinations by following guidelines.
Qualifications Associate’s degree or equivalent.
2-4 years of work experience.
Graduate of an AMA approved school or training program, a 24‑month approved School of Radiologic Technology, or other approved training (e.g., Military).
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
Licensed by the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA).
One year of experience as a registered Radiological Technologist and CT, MRI Tech or Mammography Tech.
Certification in the modality area post radiology certification.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required (either AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider).
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
At least 2 years of multi-modality experience.
Must be registered with ARRT, ARRT Advanced Modality Registration, and licensed by SCRQSA.
Fully competent in advanced modality skill sets and flexible to rotate.
