Role Overview
The Technical Writer will help create clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation, while managing and maintaining various knowledge bases. They are actively involved in creating, maintaining, updating, and publishing help center articles, spec sheets, assembly manuals, presentations, and websites. They work closely with the client and internal stakeholders to deliver quality documentation that is used as a reference for learning and application.
Role Responsibilities
Write, publish, and maintain high-quality help content for online and print publishing. This includes written, video, and graphical content (diagrams, flow charts, and logos)
Manage the production and publishing of documentation
Collaborate with engineers, product managers, field technicians, and repair technicians
Identify user needs, use cases, and metrics to focus priorities
Audit existing documentation against current processes and make revisions appropriately
Assist with capturing knowledge, ideas, decisions, and documenting information in a user‑friendly manner
Help Center/Knowledge Base Management: manage and maintain multiple Help Centers/Knowledge Bases to ensure users have access to accurate, up-to-date information. This includes organizing content, implementing search engine optimization (SEO) strategies, and optimizing user experience.
Documentation Creation and Maintenance: create, update, and maintain a variety of technical documentation, including help center articles, spec sheets, assembly manuals, and other materials. Ensure all documentation is accurate, user‑friendly, and aligned with company standards.
Collaboration with Cross‑functional Teams: work closely with product managers, engineers, quality assurance specialists, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure documentation reflects the latest product features, updates, and best practices.
Continuous Improvement: identify opportunities to improve documentation, content optimization, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices and standards to ensure consistency and quality across all documentation.
Translation and Localization: manage the translation and localization of documentation for international audiences, ensuring accuracy and cultural relevance. Coordinate with translation vendors and review translated material to maintain quality and consistency.
Desired Skills & Experience
3‑4 years of experience in technical writing and documentation
At least a high school diploma or equivalent is required; bachelor’s is preferred
Must be technology savvy
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to operate and communicate effectively with people at all levels of the global business
Comfortable with a rapidly‑changing environment
Strong problem‑solving skills and excellent attention to detail
Able to work independently, motivated, proactive, with a passion for learning and creative problem solving
