Associate Director, AI/ML Commercial Lead- PHARMA

Location: So Cal (hybrid 2‑3x week in office – relocation provided)

Salary: $195‑235k + bonus + LTI

My client, a BioPharma Manufacturer, is seeking a

Associate Director, Commercial AI/ML Lead

to join their Commercial Data & Analytics team. You will lead the development of innovative AI/ML solutions that shape commercial strategy and improve patient outcomes, while building an exceptional data science team at the cutting‑edge of AI initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead the delivery and execution of AI/ML, predictive analytics, and Generative AI initiatives that drive commercial decision‑making.

Build and deploy advanced models using deep learning, probabilistic forecasting, causal inference, reinforcement learning, and agentic AI techniques.

Guide omnichannel analytics and media optimization strategies to maximize brand performance.

Mentor and develop a high‑performing team of data scientists while fostering innovation and collaboration.

Partner with Commercial, Marketing, and Analytics leaders to translate business challenges into scalable AI‑driven solutions.

Communicate analytical insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

MS/MA degree plus 7 years of experience with 3+ years of direct report experience.

5+ years of experience delivering AI/ML and advanced analytics solutions within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry.

Expertise in machine learning, generative AI, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis.

Proficiency in programming languages Python, R, Scala, or Java.

Experience with Databricks, AWS, cloud technologies, Git, and CI/CD environments.

Proven ability to influence senior leaders, communicate complex insights, and build strong cross‑functional partnerships.
