Director – Outreach, Onboarding, and Student Engagement
Fresno City College – Full‑time, Academic Administrator.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct and evaluate outreach, matriculation and student engagement programs.
- Manage the department budget and develop action plans in partnership with faculty and staff.
- Recruit, hire, orient, coach, evaluate and, when necessary, discipline department staff.
- Lead campus tours, orientation and registration events.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with K‑12 schools, adult education and community groups.
- Represent the college at conferences, meetings and in grant‑making activities.
- Develop and revise policies and procedures to improve student services.
- Analyze program data, develop reports and recommend improvements.
- Advocate for equity‑minded practices and culturally competent student support.
- Collaborate with other district leaders to ensure consistency of outreach and enrollment initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited institution or a valid California Community College Supervisory Credential.
- Six years of student support services experience, at least two years in outreach and matriculation.
- Demonstrated understanding of diverse student populations and equity‑minded practices.
Licenses and Other Requirements
- Valid California driver’s license.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience addressing equity issues and working with racially minoritized students.
- Commitment to participatory governance and collaborative management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of college outreach and matriculation regulations, public relations, budgeting and community college operations.
- Ability to plan, direct and evaluate outreach programs, analyze data, and communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
- Strong leadership, negotiation and facilitation skills.
- Proficiency with standard business software.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: $136,607 – $153,752 based on education and experience. $2,419 doctoral stipend. Fringe benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance and CalSTRS retirement.
