The team manages potential risks to the company's operations and reputation through risk assessments, internal fraud control, employee training as well as the implementation of information technology policy and cyber security tools.About the Team:The Corporate Communications team at Shopee Philippines leads the company’s external reputation and narrative across media, partners, government, and internal stakeholders. We shape Shopee’s leadership voice, drive proactive storytelling, and ensure message alignment across regional and cross-functional teams. The team also manages media relationships, monitors sentiment, and supports effective risk and issues communication.Job Description:Lead proactive narrative development by spotting story angles, shaping pitches, and driving sustained visibility for Shopee across priority media and channelsOwn day-to-day media engagement, managing key journalist relationships, securing coverage, and ensuring Shopee’s voice is consistently present in Tier-1 and Tier-2 outletsProduce high-impact communications materials: press releases, messaging frameworks, talking points with a strong command of clarity, accuracy, and business relevanceDrive cross-functional team alignment to generate stories, validate information, and strengthen narrative coherence.Serve as first-line reviewer for complex comms, refining drafts and flagging risks early, while escalating high-sensitivity or high-stakes items to the LeadPartner closely with regional teams to ensure message consistency, secure timely approvals, and support cross-market announcementsMonitor media and sentiment signals, translating trends into insights and recommending actions that shape ongoing storytelling or pre-empt emerging concernsSupport issues response when required, coordinating facts, drafting initial materials, and managing workflowsRequirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related field7–9 years of experience in PR, communications, or journalismStrong writing, editing, and narrative development skillsProven experience handling media relations, particularly with editors/reportersDemonstrated leadership in delivering major communications projectsStrong judgment and comfort working on sensitive or high-impact communicationsOrganized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities independentlyStrong interest in tech, digital platforms, and the e-commerce industryGood to have: Experience in corporate storytelling, crisis and issues management, or business/tech reporting
