Painter I - 3rd Shift
Location: South Chesterfield, VA
Work Arrangement: Onsite
We are looking for a Painter who will be primarily responsible for painting parts in the Paint Department. The role includes touching up parts as needed to meet quality standards, ensuring sufficient paint is available for each color to prevent downtime, and testing and adjusting equipment before parts arrive at the paint booth.
What you will be responsible for in this role:
Apply powder paint coating using manual paint guns while remaining in compliance with all operational and quality standards.
Promote and maintain a safe work environment.
Test and adjust equipment prior to parts arriving at the paint booth.
Perform preventative maintenance on powder booth, spray parts, etc.
Perform preventative maintenance of the washer system as required.
Utilize a paint gun to paint/powder coat refrigerated display case parts on a suspended conveyor.
Adjust line speed to correspond with parts being painted.
Perform color changes following established procedures and time limits.
Inspect completed parts exiting the paint booth for defects and notify lead/supervisor as required.
Utilize a tape measure, reading to the nearest 1/16".
Maintain work area in a clean, safe and organized manner.
Effectively interact and communicate with paint line team leaders and team members.
Assume other activities and responsibilities from time‑to‑time as directed by supervision.
What are the basic qualifications?
High School Diploma or GED.
Pass Hill PHOENIX certification training.
Previous experience in a manufacturing painting position or powder coating experience is preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.
Demonstrated effective communication skills.
May be required to perform tasks involving standing, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, or kneeling.
Must be able to lift with or without mechanical aids on a recurring basis (up to 50 lbs.).
Work is performed within a production environment, subject to temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, increased noise levels and dust.
