Position Summary
The Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the marketing, advertising, public relations and promotions efforts of the Kansas Crossing Casino. The role ensures that messaging and voice of advertising and promotions are consistent with the guest service promise that exemplifies the company mission of providing Hometown Hospitality and delivering Fun. The Marketing Manager must also ensure that all marketing, advertising and promotions comply with the Kansas Crossing Internal Control Policy and Procedures, Kansas Lottery, and the Kansas Racing and Gaming rules and regulations, including Responsible Gaming requisites.
General Accountabilities
Responsible for overall development of marketing campaigns;
Maintains the integrity of the brand promise and Responsible Gaming message throughout all creative elements by ensuring that logos and images are correct and the 1‑800 Gambling message is included;
Manage the relationship with the advertising agency, including notifying the agency of upcoming promotions/events, reviewing and approving creative material, and providing the agency with the strategy to advertise certain promotions/events;
Ensure all projects are completed in a timely fashion for dissemination to the public;
Manage the tasks and due dates of projects based on status reports;
Manage the multi‑media and print graphic designers as well as the communications specialist;
Work closely with the promotions & entertainment team to ensure correct information is shared with the public for events and promotions;
Participate in the review and approval process of all marketing material, proofreading for content (spelling and grammar) and correct images;
Manage the relationship between the property, Kansas Racing and Gaming Commission (KRGC), and Kansas Lottery;
Amend, revise, and re‑develop campaigns in response to feedback from Marketing Department team members, KRGC, and Lottery;
Ensure that content is placed on social media in a timely manner according to current promotion;
Maintain a relationship with media outlets to understand what they have to offer for advertising;
Understand the markets that the casino serves and its customers;
Be knowledgeable in the area of media and advertising plan development;
Develop and maintain the advertising budget;
Maintain the advertising checkbook and report monthly expenditures to the Finance department;
Assist in developing the marketing plan and other required documents for monthly and quarterly reporting related to advertising;
Order signage for on‑property advertising;
Maintain good communication with team members and maintain a positive and professional work environment;
Utilize effective communication tools to ensure consistent, accurate, and timely information is provided through shifts;
Perform other duties as assigned by department and/or company management.

Be physically mobile with reasonable accommodations, including the ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 25 lbs., and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces.
Job Qualifications
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age. Management experience in gaming operations and thorough knowledge of all casino advertising and marketing is preferred. Knowledge of database software is required. Results oriented, hands‑on professional with the ability to interact effectively with the public, staff, and colleagues. Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university; or a minimum of 2 years of experience in a comparable position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred. Excellent communication skills both written and oral. Ability to read, analyze, interpret and comprehend technical procedures, government regulations, business periodicals, instructions, and correspondence/memos; write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers or staff, guests and the general public. Working knowledge of Excel and Word required. Attention to detail and accuracy. Previous customer service experience preferred. Maintain confidential information.
Compliance Responsibilities
Attend required training sessions offered by the casino;
Obtain required license(s);
Perform duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations;
Take necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, consume alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco;
Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the team member’s department;
Have knowledge of the property’s programs to address problem gambling;
Consult with the appropriate individuals and maintain an effective system of written policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with state regulations and systems of internal controls;
Investigate exceptions, fraud, and potential violations and report such instances to the appropriate levels of management;
Report any acts of wrongdoing on behalf of any team member that they have knowledge of.
