Position Summary
Perform vehicle inspections to assess overall condition in support of processing and sale of client vehicles in the lane and online.
Essential Functions
Verify vehicle identification.
Identify and update vehicle information, including year, make, model, and trim.
Inspect vehicle equipment, options, interior, tires, and mechanical components.
Document and estimate vehicle damages.
Take photographs to support and complete reports.
Move vehicles throughout the lot and park them in designated areas as needed.
Review and document odometer information.
Assess frame condition and document unibody or frame damages.
Assess mechanical condition and document issues found during the condition report process.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Ability to operate computer, laptop, or tablet (iPad preferred).
Ability to write professional reports.
Basic knowledge of vehicles.
Ability to use standardized lists to assign costs for damage.
Education
High school diploma or GED required.
Post‑high‑school training in damage assessment preferred.
Experience
Background in automotive repair cost estimating preferred.
Skills
Ability to learn job‑specific computer programs.
Ability to digitally photograph vehicles and upload photos to a computer.
Other Requirements
Must be detail‑oriented.
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Able to prioritize duties.
Able to work outside in any weather conditions.
Required to stand, walk, reach, talk, hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb regularly.
Must follow through on tasks to completion.
Good communication skills, both in person and in writing.
Must drive a manual and automatic transmission.
Must be willing to work underneath vehicles for visual frame inspection.

Compensation
The compensation range for this position is listed in the “Job Details” section at the bottom of this posting. This position is eligible for additional compensation pursuant to ACV’s incentive compensation plan. Final compensation will be determined based upon the applicant’s experience, skillset, location, business needs, market demands, and other factors as permitted by law.
