The Packaging Technician position is available at our Animal Health facility in De Soto, Kansas, located near the Kansas City metropolitan area. The De Soto facility is expanding operations to manufacturing vaccines and biologics for large and companion animals and leveraging an experienced and innovative team environment. The key technologies at the site are biologics production using fermentation and cell culture platforms, and filling and packaging.
Responsibilities
Work independently and as part of a team to contribute to daily completion and schedule adherence of production activities.
Carry out day‑to‑day production activities including sealed bottle label application, bottle packaging, palletization, process document completion, cycle counting, and inventory reconciliation.
Complete documentation using Good Documentation Practices.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and employ basic problem‑solving skills.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 2years of relevant work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study.
Required Skills & Experience:
Principled verbal and written communication to effectively communicate information to colleagues at various levels.
Follow/comply with Manufacturing/Packaging directions, standard operating procedures, and company/corporate/regulatory policies.
Effective time‑management skills to meet given deadlines.
Ability to work effectively with team members and support others.
Proficiency with basic computer skills including MSWord and MSExcel.
Ability to work overtime as needed due to business demands.
Assist in training new team members.
Operate a company forklift and pallet jack.
Assist with equipment set‑up and operation.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience working in a manufacturing/packaging environment.
Good understanding of aseptic processes used in manufacturing/packaging.
Experience in SAP or other ERP system.
Working Conditions
Third shift Monday–Friday, 9:30pm–6:00am.
Flexibility working overtime, including holidays, Saturdays and Sundays when business needs demand.
Travel is not a part of this position.
Climate‑controlled and non‑climate‑controlled areas.
Salary
$48,600–$76,600, based on relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus and long‑term incentive, if applicable.
